Since 1960 David Lewis has designed products in a wide field from professional marine and dental to domestic household. Although David Lewis has worked for several clients, his name is primarily connected with Bang & Olufsen's products on which he has left his mark for more than 35 years. In the first years, 1965-68, he worked for and together with Jacob Jensen, where his first work for bang & Olufsen was the Beolab 5000 series with the "sliderule" motive. From 1968-80 he worked for and together with Henning Moldenhawer, where his first work was the Beovision 600, which, like the "sliderule" motive, became an icon for B&O. Since the beginning of the eighties David Lewis has been responsible for the design of the majority of Bang & Olufsen's products and has designed such award-winning products as the Beovision MX series in 1985 and the Beosystem 2500 in 1991. Besides the B&O products David Lewis has designed a sofa for Erik Jørgensen (relanched . He has designed kitchen equipment for Voss and vestfront, dental equipment for L. Goof (award winning) and coin counter just to mention the variaty of products he has designed In 1995 David Lewis was in London, awarded the tittle of Royal Designer for Industry and in 2002 he was honored with the knight of Dannebrog.
